Activation for New NY Times Users

1.       Go to nytimes.com in a browser

2.       Click Login in the top right corner

 3.       On the login form, select “Continue with work or school single sign-on” at the bottom of the list

  4.     A screen will appear, prompting you to enter your MSU email address. After entering your MSU email address click “Continue”

 5.     The screen will then redirect you to the MSU login page for you to authenticate by entering  your MSU NetID and Password.

6. Once you successfully login, you will be directed to the NYT website.

Login Instructions for Existing NY Times Users

1. Go to nytimes.com in a browser
2. Click on “Log In” in the top-right corner
3. Select “Continue with work or school single sign-on”
4.  A screen will appear, prompting you to enter your MSU email address. Type in your MSU email address and then click “Continue”
5. It will then redirect you to the MSU login page. Type in your MSU NetID and password to login.
6. Once you’ve been authenticated, you should have access to news articles in the newspaper.

Alternative Access Methods for Existing NY Times Users

1. Go to nytimes.com in a browser and login via your current login method (eg. Email/password or social login method)
2. Click on Account in the top-right corner, and then Account settings
3. Navigate to Email and settings
4. Click “Connect” next to Work or School
5. A pop-up will open, prompting you to enter your MSU email address
6. The pop-up will then redirect to the MSU login page for you to authenticate
7. Once you successfully login, you will be directed back to the NYT website

Mobile App Login

1. Go to nytimes.com in a browser
2. Click Login in the top right corner
3. On the login form, select “Continue with work or school single sign-on” at the bottom of the list
4. A screen will appear, prompting you to enter your MSU email address. After entering your MSU email address click “Continue”
5. The screen will then redirect you to the MSU login page for you to authenticate by entering your MSU NetID and Password
6. Once authenticated via SSO on the Web, you can download  the mobile app and just login with the same credentials
