Can visitors use library computers? Are there time limits?

Answer

Sprague Library (Montclair Campus)

Bloomfield College Students

Bloomfield College students have access to Sprague Library’s public-use computers by logging in with their NetID.

Alumni

Alumni can use computers in the following locations:

  • Sprague Library has computers that are available for alumni and the general public during the library's regular hours.
  • Additionally, alumni carrying an Alumni Card can access the lab on the 5th floor of University Hall.  There, a staff member will log them into one of the PCs using a generic account. Contact Alumni Relations (phone number: 973-655-4141) if you need to obtain an Alumni card.

Community Members

Community Members interested in using a public computer should bring current photo ID (e.g., driver's license, passport, student/employee ID) to the Laptop Lending Lab, located on the first floor by the elevator.  The lab assistant there will note visitors' information and then walk them to the Reference Room and log them in with a guest account.

Time Limits

There is no time limit for computer use, however, if a computer is left idle, it will log out the user automatically and the user must be logged in again by the lab assistant.

Note: If you are on campus and have a laptop or other personal device, you can access the University's guest WiFi network through Guest Connect or eduroam.

Bloomfield College Library
