Q. How do I access a print Montclair State dissertation or thesis?
Students or researchers who want to view print copies of a Montclair State thesis or doctoral dissertation should first look in the Library catalog. There are many copies of Master's theses in the circulating collection that can be borrowed just like any other book.
Doctoral dissertations and single copy theses (where the Library only holds one copy) are kept in the Archives Reading Room. Theses and dissertations in the Archives Reading Room do not circulate. They can be read in the Reading Room or in the Reference area. To access the Reading Room, students can contact Paul Martinez (973-655-3465) or the Reference Librarian on duty. The Reference Librarian will unlock the door and help you sign in to the Reading Room.
You can read the thesis and dissertation in the Reading Room or you can use the scanners beside the Reference Desk and leave the thesis/dissertation with the librarian on duty.
